The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed two senior officers to key management positions within the Nigeria Police Force. AIG Yetunde Longe has been named the new Force Secretary, while AIG Idowu Owohunwa has been assigned to the INTERPOL National Central Bureau at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja.
The appointments were announced in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. The move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of the Police Force and strengthen its multinational crime-fighting strategies.
In her role as Force Secretary, AIG Longe will manage the secretarial functions of the Force Headquarters, ensuring the effective implementation of the IGP’s policies and directives. AIG Owohunwa will focus on improving international police cooperation and ensuring Nigeria meets its INTERPOL commitments. The Inspector-General praised the officers for their dedication and service, highlighting the confidence placed in their capabilities.
