Nigeria Rejects Foreign Interference Amid Protests

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has reaffirmed the country’s opposition to foreign interference in its internal affairs. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, Tuggar emphasized that while Nigeria values positive international relations, it will not tolerate foreign influence in the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests.

The protests, which started on August 1 due to economic hardships, have seen significant activity in cities like Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna, with some incidents of violence. Concerns have been raised about footage showing protesters with Russian flags. Tuggar assured that Nigeria will take action against any foreign entities involved in supporting or influencing the protests, while still maintaining strong international relationships and focusing on domestic reforms.

He called for international understanding and collaboration as Nigeria works to improve living standards and economic conditions for its citizens.
