The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the Federal and State Governments to stop the killing of protesters during the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests. NLC President Joe Ajaero emphasized that security forces should focus on combating bandits rather than peaceful citizens protesting against hardship.
Ajaero criticized the use of force by police, warning that violence leads to further chaos. He demanded disciplinary action against officers involved in the violence, compensation for victims’ families, and proper treatment for the injured. Ajaero also called for the immediate release of arrested protesters and condemned the use of live ammunition in crowd control, urging for better management of protests.
