The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected allegations by the Nigeria Police against its President, Joe Ajaero, calling them “plain mischief.” The police had accused Ajaero of terrorism financing, treasonable felony, and cybercrime, summoning him for questioning and threatening arrest if he failed to appear.
NLC’s Head of Information, Benson Upah, stated in an interview that these charges are baseless and meant to discredit the Labour movement. He emphasized that the NLC is focused on the integrity and welfare of Nigerians, and not involved in any criminal activities.
Upah further criticized the state for using such accusations to target the NLC, asserting that they have picked the wrong group to accuse.
