Nollywood Actor Defends Colleague’s Right to Pursue Diverse Ventures
Nollywood actor, Sam Nnabuike, has taken a stand against media personality Noble Igwe’s recent criticism of Yul Edochie’s career transitions. The controversy sparked when Igwe questioned Edochie’s tendency to switch professions on the X platform.
Expressing disappointment in Igwe’s comments, Nnabuike defended Edochie’s right to explore different fields. He argued that it is not only disheartening but also somewhat malicious to believe that actors shouldn’t pursue other interests beyond acting.

In a direct response, Nnabuike stated, “It is not only appalling that someone I thought was intelligent in the person of Noble Igwe would think it is a bit off for an actor to venture into other businesses, but it is also somewhat malicious that people don’t feel actors should have a life outside acting.”
Nnabuike went on to emphasize the challenges actors face in the current economic climate and questioned the societal expectation that actors should solely focus on their craft. He concluded by urging everyone to let actors breathe and pursue diverse opportunities.
The social media post, which has gained attention, reflects the ongoing debate surrounding actors and their choices beyond the realm of acting in Nollywood.
