The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State, Mohammed Lawal Falala, has urged NSCDC personnel to work with care, professionalism, and diligence to protect the fundamental human rights of Nigerians. This message was conveyed during a one-day seminar organized by the legal unit of the NSCDC, Kano Command, aimed at sensitizing personnel to work in accordance with the law, professional ethics, and human rights principles.
The Commandant emphasized the importance of respecting human rights, conducting themselves professionally, and avoiding the mistreatment of citizens, including suspects in their custody. He stressed that the era of assaulting and manhandling suspects is over, and personnel should avoid any actions that could lead to litigation and enforcement of citizens’ rights.
