Ogun Governor’s Adviser Refutes Claims Over Unpaid Allowances

Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Ogun State Governor, has rebuked former aides of ex-Governor Ibikunle Amosun for blaming Governor Dapo Abiodun for their unpaid severance allowances. Akinmade described the accusations as blackmail and insisted the responsibility lay with Amosun.

Akinmade explained that Amosun paid all political appointees except his special assistants before leaving office, breaching protocol and extant law. He emphasized that Abiodun could not be held accountable for severance payments that Amosun had already decided upon.

He advised the former aides to hold Amosun accountable for their exclusion and suggested they appeal to Abiodun for compassionate redress. Akinmade highlighted the contrast between Amosun’s alleged vendetta-driven actions and Abiodun’s compassionate governance.
