Omah Lay Vows To Be The Leader Of Afrobeat

Nigerian singer Omah Lay has boldly declared himself one of the leaders in the emerging wave of Afrobeats performers. In a recent interview with The Beat FM in London, he expressed his belief that he has crafted a unique musical style that he hopes will become widely embraced in the industry.

Omah Lay shared insights into his vision for the future of Afrobeats, stating, “I have started a new sound. I feel like the sound people identify as Afrobeats is going to change in 2024/2025, in the future. And I’m going to be one of the leaders of the new sound.”

He highlighted his latest track, ‘Holy Ghost,’ as a representation of the innovative sound he is introducing to the world of Afrobeats. Omah Lay expressed confidence that his distinct musical style will be a significant influence in the coming years.

“I have started a new sound of Afrobeats, and you’re going to hear more of that in 2024. ‘Holy Ghost’ is one of them. And I’m putting out an album. The album is going to consist of all of these new vibes,” he added.

Omah Lay’s declaration has sparked anticipation among fans as they eagerly await the release of his upcoming album and the evolution of his unique contribution to the ever-evolving Afrobeats genre.
