The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the recent change in the nomination to the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Last week, the Ondo APC had objected to the nomination of Mr. Victor Akinjo, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former PDP candidate for the House of Representatives election in the state, for a position on the NDDC board. Akinjo was replaced by Mr. Otito Atikase, a former member of the state House of Assembly.
The state APC Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, praised President Tinubu for his leadership and sensitivity to the desires and core interests of the people. Adetimehin described the decision to replace Akinjo with Atikase as “heartwarming and commendable.”
The party urged Atikase to prioritize the interests of Ondo State while serving on the NDDC board and encouraged him to contribute to the development of the APC in the state.
Although no official reason was given for Akinjo’s replacement, this move by President Tinubu has generated discussion within the Ondo APC and highlights the influence and decision-making power of political leaders in shaping nominations and appointments.
