Ondo Deputy Gov Not Served Misconduct Notice

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has officially responded to the alleged notice of gross misconduct issued by the Ondo State House of Assembly, stating that he has not received any such notice as of September 25, 2023. Aiyedatiwa made this statement in a release that he issued and personally signed on Monday.

In his statement, he addressed the claims made by Honourable Olatunji Oshati, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Information, during a national television interview on the program “Politics Today” on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Oshati had announced during the interview that the House of Assembly had served Aiyedatiwa with a notice of allegations of gross misconduct.

Aiyedatiwa expressed his concern that despite the announcement, he had not received any official communication or letter regarding these allegations. He noted that the alleged letter of allegations of gross misconduct was said to have been sent to him by the House of Assembly on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, following a purported petition by certain members of the House.

The Deputy Governor highlighted that Oshati’s claims were made without concrete evidence that the letter had been delivered to him. Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of conducting sensitive constitutional matters like the impeachment process through official and legal channels rather than through public announcements in newspapers and on television.

In conclusion, Aiyedatiwa reiterated that he had neither seen nor been served with any “letter of allegations of gross misconduct” from the Ondo State House of Assembly. He called upon the Speaker of the House, the Honourable Chief Judge of Ondo State, and the general public to take note of this statement.
