A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kayode Ajulo, has raised serious allegations, claiming that certain officials in the administration of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu are signing documents on behalf of the ailing governor. Ajulo made these assertions on Arise Television’s Morning Show program.
According to Ajulo, discrepancies were found in documents submitted for approval by five commissioners, raising suspicions about the authenticity of the governor’s signature. He suggested that private investigators, acting under the Police and Administration of Justice Act, have compelling evidence that warrants scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ajulo stated, “The purported signature is not from the governor. It is so apparent.”
The crisis in Ondo State seemed to have taken a turn with President Bola Tinubu’s intervention on November 25, urging opposing factions to embrace peace and maintain the status quo. The Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, also pledged to unite all factions, and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Oladiji Olamide, resolved to halt all impeachment moves against Aiyedatiwa.
While addressing the officials, Aiyedatiwa affirmed his commitment to working with everyone and putting past political disagreements aside. He stated, “It is one big family, and our father has intervened to bring all the children together to remain under the same family.”
The gravity of the allegations and the involvement of law enforcement agencies will likely bring further developments to this unfolding situation in Ondo State.
