The Osun State Police Command has detained eleven people for alleged armed robbery, conspiracy, and theft.

Hope Okafor, Deputy Commissioner of Police, announced this at a news briefing in Osogbo on Monday.
According to Okafor, the press event was planned to highlight the Command’s recent victories.
She revealed that the individuals were apprehended in several sting operations.

The suspects arrested are Seyi Ojo (33 years old), Kamorudeen Quadri (32 years old), Ogbemudia Sunday (48 years old), Fatai Toheeb (22 years old), David Adebayo (43 years old), David Aderemi (30 years old), Olalekan Musiliu (35 years old), and Ayodeji Kehinde (39 years old).

She stated that exhibits recovered from them included a Toyota Corolla salon car, a Toyota Highlander, eight sacks of dried cocoa beans, a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, various sorts of phones, and a gold necklace.

The Command also claimed that a suspect, Dada Taiwo, was hospitalized after receiving gunshot wounds during a standoff with police.

Okafor further disclosed that all of the suspects had confessed to the crimes and would be charged in court once the investigations were completed.

The Osun police spokesperson asked members of the public who had lost valuables to criminals to visit the headquarters to see if their items were among those recovered from the accused.

“The Police Command is using this medium to inform the general public that those whose properties are among the recovered exhibits should come with necessary documents to prove ownership at Police Headquarters, Ring-Road, Osogbo, Osun State,” she went on to say.
