Following the exposure of his adultery scandal on the church’s WhatsApp group, Oscar Mukahanana, a Christian minister of the United Methodist Church, reportedly committed suicide.
The minister, a reverend serving as the district superintendent for Zimbabwe’s Harare East, had an extramarital relationship with a young woman from the church.
There have been rumors that the tape of his covert sex with the aforementioned woman spilled onto the church’s WhatsApp group.
He described his crazy enthusiasm upon meeting the woman and added that they had a fantastic conversation prior to her menstrual cycle.
When the recording from the WhatsApp group emerged, Mukahanana’s churchgoers began sharing the discussion, making fun of him.
According to the local media, they even made memes to make fun of the district superintendent for the adultery issue.
Mukahanana, who was humiliated and mortified by the incident, killed himself on Friday because he could not bear the disgrace.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce to you the untimely death of our beloved district superintendent, Rev. Oscar Mukahanana of the Harare East District,” the UMC Harare District said in a statement in response to the incident.
“The Church shall be informed of developments and funeral arrangements via the Office of the Bishop. You are kindly asked to provide the Mukahanana family with your support in prayer as a church.
