In a social media post, Doyle argued that the money spent on the cars could have been better utilized for public benefit, such as building infrastructure or supporting education. He warned that flaunting wealth while many Nigerians struggle to feed themselves could ignite social unrest and potentially spark a revolution.
Doyle further suggested that a more meaningful birthday gift for someone like Oyedepo would have been the construction of a vocational training center or the establishment of a scholarship scheme in his honor. He emphasized that such actions would be more in tune with the difficult realities faced by the majority of Nigerians and would have helped soften the public perception that the wealthy are disconnected from the suffering masses.
