The leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) intensified with the emergence of two factions within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). On Friday, a faction loyal to acting National Chairman Umar Damagum suspended the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.
In response, the faction led by Ajibade countered by suspending Damagum and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, accusing them of disloyalty. Both sides cited violations of the party’s constitution and established committees to investigate the allegations.
As tensions escalate, the crisis has led to a suspension battle, with both factions now awaiting the outcome of internal investigations.
