Pere Condemns BBNaija Winners

Pere Egbi, a former participant on the BBNaija reality show, has stirred controversy by suggesting that previous winners of the show did not deserve their victories. He implied that the voting process was driven by emotion rather than rationality, and if the show were held in South Africa or America, the outcomes might have been different.

Despite having participated in the reality show twice, during the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season in 2021 and the All Stars edition in 2023, Pere expressed his skepticism about the fairness of the voting system. He asserted that he would decline the opportunity to appear on the show again if presented with the chance.

Pere’s comments have sparked discussions about the voting dynamics and perceptions of fairness in reality shows. While some may view his remarks as an expression of personal frustration, they also add an interesting layer to the ongoing discourse surrounding the BBNaija competition and its impact on participants’ careers and public perceptions.

Speaking in the latest episode of Celebrity Quickies, Pere said: “My experience in the Big Brother Naija house was a rollercoaster. I had different encounters with different people, experiences that gave me something. Overall, it was good.

“But if I was asked to go back in the [BBNaija] House again, I would not. Simply because I feel Nigerians are not ready for reality TV. A bunch of Nigerians who vote for these guys in these shows in Nigeria, especially, Big Brother, are just one-track-minded.

“I’m being honest, if this was a South African or American show, I don’t think the people who won will win.”
