Former Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has criticized Napoli for their treatment of Victor Osimhen.
Pinnick recently shared his thoughts on the summer transfer saga involving the 25-year-old striker. Just a year ago, Osimhen was celebrated as a hero in Naples, having led them to their first league since the days of Diego Maradona.

Commenting on the situation, Pinnick, who was the first helm of Nigerian football from 2014 to 2022, expressed disappointment with how Napoli handled Osimhen, considering his contributions to the club.
In an interview with Arise News, Pinnick stated, “I’m not limited to Nigeria; I’m global, so there are things I cannot say. But I can tell you emphatically that Osimhen served Napoli with his heart,
“Osimhen did what nobody did in 30 years. Osimhen single-handedly won that league for Napoli after 30 years. Guess what? Osimhen won the African Footballer of the Year; his club did not post it on that day. It was two days after the club posted it. What does that tell you?
“Did they give him a guard of honour for winning the African Player of the Year? There are so many things that I cannot say, but Napoli was not fair to Osimhen.”
As Osimhen gears up to join Galatasaray, he has promised fans that they will achieve great things together. Meanwhile he is currently in camp wit the Super eagles for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
