The Nigerian police are currently investigating and questioning five individuals in connection with the tragic death of the late singer Mohbad.
Among those being interrogated are an auxiliary nurse named Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, as well as individuals known as Splendid, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy, all of whom have been linked to the case.
The police commissioner overseeing the investigation provided updates on the case, shedding light on the administration of injections and the events leading up to Mohbad’s demise.
Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, identified as an auxiliary nurse, is considered the primary suspect in Mohbad’s death. She allegedly administered multiple potent injections to the singer on September 12, including Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, at his residence. These injections caused an immediate adverse reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.
The police commissioner revealed that Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe lacked the qualifications to perform nursing duties and administered the injections in a non-clinical setting, which was deemed professionally negligent. The investigation aims to determine the extent of her involvement and hold her accountable for her actions.
In addition to the nurse, Splendid is implicated for his alleged involvement in inviting an unqualified nurse to administer medication that triggered reactions leading to Mohbad’s death. The investigation seeks to ascertain Splendid’s role in this matter.
Another suspect, Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, known as Primeboy and described as a childhood friend of Mohbad, attended a show with the singer on September 10. A physical altercation between the two resulted in Mohbad’s injury, which contributed to his tragic death.
Furthermore, Sam Larry (Samson Balogun) has been arrested in connection with the singer’s death and for his alleged involvement in viral videos depicting bullying and assault.
Abdul-Aziz Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has also been detained on similar allegations related to the case.
