Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has attributed the rising insecurity in Nigeria’s southeast to poor governance. The former Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) shared his insights on Sunday via a post on his X handle, emphasizing that the government’s failures have contributed significantly to the region’s instability.
Amadi highlighted that the solution lies in proactive community action, urging citizens to unite and address the issue. He stressed that both the government and the people must take responsibility for improving the situation, noting that collective efforts are essential to mitigate the crisis.
“Insecurity in Southeast is primarily due to bad governance in Nigeria,” Amadi stated. “But we can mitigate it through quality community action. We cannot fold our hands and allow the ugly situation to continue. If the government fails, the people should not fail too. We must work together to end insecurity in the southeast and achieve our destiny as the pride of Africa.”
