“President Tinubu Condemns Violent Killings in Plateau State, Urges Peace and Justice”

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the recent eruption of violence and killings in Plateau State. In a strong condemnation, he voiced his outrage against the horrific killings in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State and certain parts of Benue State.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, President Tinubu described the reprisal attacks and bloodshed among communities in the two states as depressing, needless, and avoidable. He highlighted the tragic loss of innocent lives as a major consequence of such conflicts and emphasized the importance of tolerance and forgiveness in building peaceful and prosperous communities.

To restore trust and harmony in these conflict areas, President Tinubu called upon community leaders, religious leaders, traditional rulers, socio-cultural organizations, as well as the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, and the Christian Association of Nigeria to work together in fostering genuine and long-lasting peace.

President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to eradicating violent crimes and all forms of criminality across Nigeria. He directed security agencies to apprehend the masterminds behind these acts and ensure they face the full force of the law.

Furthermore, President Tinubu urged the governments of Plateau and Benue states, along with emergency response agencies, to provide immediate support and relief to the victims who have been displaced as a result of these conflicts.
