President Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Embrace Patriotism

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to demonstrate patriotism by loving and cherishing their country. In his Independence Day speech, he urged citizens to unite with a common desire for “peace and progress,” even in the face of ongoing calls for disintegration.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of affirming the sacred rights and individual gifts bestowed upon Nigerians by God. He stressed that no one is greater or lesser than another, and that the nation’s triumphs and trials would shape its future. He called on the people to love and cherish Nigeria as their own.

During his address, President Tinubu reiterated his government’s commitment to improving the country’s economic prospects. He highlighted various developmental policies aimed at reshaping and modernizing the economy while ensuring the security of lives, liberty, and property.

To cushion the impact of recent subsidy removal and foreign exchange unification, President Tinubu announced a provisional wage increment for low-grade workers over the next six months. This measure is intended to alleviate the pain caused by subsidy removal without causing undue inflation.

“Based on our talks with labor, business, and other stakeholders, we are introducing a provisional wage increment to enhance the federal minimum wage without causing undue inflation. For the next six months, the average low-grade worker shall receive an additional Twenty-Five Thousand naira per month,” President Tinubu stated.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the Nigerian people and promoting economic growth and stability.
