Renowned Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has achieved a significant milestone as his popular track ‘Calm Down’ takes the title of the most-streamed African song in the history of the United States of America (USA).
‘Calm Down’ surpassed CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to achieve this feat, according to American music data compilation website, Chart Data, which shared the news on Twitter.
The song has garnered over half a billion streams on both Spotify and YouTube. It gained further prominence after a remix featuring American superstar Selena Gomez, reaching number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Additionally, ‘Calm Down’ is the first African song to top the American radio chart, solidifying Rema’s position as a prominent figure in the global music scene.
