‘Ritualists’ Show up at Ondo Speaker’s Residence Amid Impeachment Move Against Deputy Gov

On Monday, suspected ritualists carrying fetish artifacts broke into Olamide Oladiji’s official residence, the speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The strange incident allegedly took place during a plot to remove Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor.
On Monday, the House of Assembly’s attempt to remove Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from office took a new direction.

Nine out of the House of Assembly’s 17 members signed a petition against Aiyedatiwa, according to reports.

The plot intensified on Monday when vehicles and onlookers noticed a fetish object at the gate of the Speaker’s official residence, Rt (Hon) Olamide Oladiji’s lodge, which is next to the Alagbaka Government House.

According to several individuals who spoke with reporters, the alleged ritualists must have been supporters of the deputy governor who are opposed to the Assembly MPs’ attempt to remove him from office.
The Assembly Speaker, Mr. Oladiji, could not be reached for comment because his official line was not accessible.

According to several individuals who spoke with our reporter, the alleged ritualists must have been supporters of the deputy governor who are opposed to the Assembly MPs’ attempt to remove him from office.
The Assembly Speaker, Mr. Oladiji, could not be accessed for comment because his official line was down.

Ayodeji Ologun, the group’s chairman, spoke to reporters at a news conference in Akure and explained that the state will experience political instability and turmoil as a result of the decision to remove the deputy governor from office.

Mr. Ologun emphasized that since Governor Rotimi Akeredolu returned to the nation after his three-month medical leave, the Assembly members have done nothing to improve the situation in the state.

“While Mr. Akeredolu returned to the nation, for more than two weeks he did so in a contentious manner, he has not been seen in the state instead. Also noteworthy is the fact that Mr. Akeredolu’s refusal to resume at his official duty post for the governance of the state since his return has been causing serious concern in the state, and the State House of Assembly has not been making matters any better.

“The Ondo State House of Assembly has made the unjustified and unwarranted decision to embark on a process of impeachment of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the expense of the peace, stability, and welfare of the people of Ondo State, adding insult to injury by encouraging violence, anarchy, and orchestrating a breakdown of law and order.

“As a group, we firmly feel that delivering excellent governance in the state’s citizens’ best interests should be the political class in Ondo state’s top priority right now rather than politics. Over time, our people have been defrauded, but it hasn’t made a difference in how they live.

“We are aware that this is not about accountability, as the House would have us think, but rather a vengeance by a group of corrupt opportunists who have unrestricted access to the state’s resources due to the governor’s incapacity.

“In the overriding interest of the people of the state and the nation at large,” he said, “we hereby implore The National Assembly to call the Ondo State House of Assembly to order in view of the foregoing stated and the contemplation of Section 11(1)(4)(5) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
