Rivers State Governor Apologizes for Recent Political Crisis, Pledges Peace and Stability

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a heartfelt apology to the people of the state in light of the recent political crisis. Governor Fubara described the crisis as “regrettable anxieties of the last few days” and emphasized the importance of making sacrifices for the sake of peace.

In a statement titled “Peace is Priceless,” released to the press in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara expressed his deep concern over the recent events in the state. He particularly mentioned the fire incident at the Rivers State House of Assembly complex and the divisions among lawmakers that followed.

Governor Fubara explained that his visit to the House was aimed at assessing the damage caused by the fire and implementing measures to protect lives and property within the assembly complex. He also called for a thorough investigation of the incident.

The governor thanked President Bola Tinubu for his intervention, which he said opened up channels for communication to facilitate the resolution of the ongoing crisis. He expressed his gratitude to elders who are currently mediating in the matter.

Governor Fubara stressed that his actions are intended to restore peace and stability in the state and emphasized his commitment to the progress and well-being of the people of Rivers State. He noted that no sacrifice is too great to achieve this objective and that it is the collective responsibility of leaders to leverage their positions and influences for the betterment of the state.
