Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, became one of the first passengers to embark on a journey aboard the newly launched Lagos Blue Line rail system on Monday. The governor boarded the train from the Marina terminal enroute Mile 2.
The Lagos Blue Line Rail, which commenced commercial operations on September 4, aims to enhance transportation within the city and reduce traffic congestion. The managing director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, had announced the launch and mentioned that Governor Sanwo-Olu would be the first passenger during the inaugural ride on the train.
The development marks a significant milestone in improving public transportation in Lagos and provides commuters with an alternative mode of travel. It is expected to contribute to easing the traffic challenges faced by residents in the city.
