Six Governors, Seven Ministers Join Tinubu at UNGA78

President Bola Tinubu will lead a 17-member delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 18 to 26. The delegation includes six state governors and seven ministers. The governors accompanying President Tinubu are from Imo, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Kaduna, Kwara, and Oyo states.

The ministers in the delegation include those responsible for Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Health and Social Welfare, Defence, Solid Minerals Development, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and Industry, Trade, and Investment.

During the visit, President Tinubu will engage in meetings with multinational companies’ CEOs and hold bilateral discussions with other world leaders. He is expected to deliver his inaugural national statement on September 19, focusing on sustainable development, climate change, global cooperation, and addressing inequalities and humanitarian crises.

Additionally, President Tinubu will have the honor of conducting the NASDAQ closing ceremony during its trading session, becoming the first African president to do so.

The theme of the 78th UNGA is “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability for All.”
