Six suspected vote buyers detained by ICPC in Imo

During the Imo State election process, agents of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission have detained six people who they believe to be vote buyers.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission revealed in a statement posted on its X account on Sunday that the suspects were found at seven polling places: Orji Mechanic Village (PU 008), Concord Hotel (PU 009), Rento Hotel (PU 010), Township School (PU 005, 007, 008), and Ojukwu Library. A total of N4,101,750 was found among the suspects.
A long list of voter information found on two suspects and a notebook with names and phone numbers were among the items seized.

After being apprehended, every suspect was detained, profiled, and had their statements recorded under caution. Even though he was freed on bond, the case is still being looked into.

Additionally, a long list of voter details and a notebook with names and phone numbers were found from two of the suspects. After being detained, profiled, and having their statements obtained under caution, all of the suspects were released on bond while the investigations proceeded.
