Skales Says He Inspired Burna Boy’s Early Success

Nigerian singer Skales has claimed he played a key role in Burna Boy’s rise to fame. In an interview with Naija FM, Lagos, Skales revealed that the Port Harcourt-born artist had no hit song before their collaboration on the Temper Remix in 2017, which marked a turning point in Burna Boy’s career.

Skales acknowledged that while Burna Boy has inspired him over the years, their collaboration was mutually beneficial. He emphasized the importance of supporting each other in the music industry, stating, “I’m not trying to take credit for his success, but I believe I inspired him at a point, too.”

Meanwhile, Burna Boy recently highlighted his financial success, claiming he is now wealthier than many politicians and oil tycoons he once admired. In an Instagram post, he advised his followers not to underestimate younger people, noting that music has become a significant source of wealth in Nigeria.
