Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has endured devastating personal losses as the new year begins.
Tragedy first struck in November last year when Stanley lost his father while representing Nigeria in the AFCON qualifiers. The Chipper United shot-stopper recieved the heartbreaking news after the Super Eagles match against Benin Republic.
Still grieving his father’s passing, the Super Eagles star has now been dealt another crushing blow. On New Year’s day 202, the Nigerian international revealed that he had lost his mother as well.
Taking to his official X account, the emotional goalkeeper shared, “Rip mom, worst year of my life already 😢💔.”
The news has shaken Stanley, who described the year 2025 as the most challenging of his life so far. He had just celebrated the start of a new year when he recieved a devastating update about his mother’s passing.
Despite his personal challenges, Nwabali has remained a vital player for the Super Eagles since cementing his place as the team’s number one goalkeeper.
