Super Eagles Secure Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over Mozambique

In a gripping football match on Monday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria clinched a remarkable 3-2 triumph over Mozambique, breaking a five-year dry spell in friendly games.

The encounter began with Mozambique taking an early lead, as Geny Catamo found the back of the net just seven minutes into the game. This initial setback raised concerns that Nigeria’s struggle to secure victories in friendly matches would continue. However, Terem Moffi, representing OGC Nice, swiftly leveled the score with a close-range shot 13 minutes later.

As the game progressed, Nigeria maintained their dominance on the field. At the half-hour mark, Frank Onyeka of Brentford seized an opportunity and fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box, propelling the Super Eagles to a 2-1 lead. The Mambas of Mozambique further compounded their woes by conceding a penalty after a handball in the 18-yard box.

Simon Moses stepped up to the plate and expertly converted the penalty, securing Nigeria’s third goal. The first half concluded with a comfortable lead for Jose Peseiro’s team, marking a significant and long-awaited victory in friendly matches.
