Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, widely known as Teni, has refuted claims of undergoing weight loss surgery. In the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, Teni clarified that her transformed body figure was the result of a strict diet regimen, not surgical intervention.
During the podcast, Teni emphasized her reluctance to opt for surgery due to its life-threatening nature. She elaborated on her dedication to a disciplined diet for two months, expressing that the process taught her valuable lessons in self-control and mental fortitude.
Teni addressed speculations about surgery, stating, “If I did surgery, my stomach would be flat. I wish, but I was scared. Surgery is not easy. It’s life-threatening. It’s not easy to go under the knife.”
She revealed the challenges of adhering to a rigorous diet, highlighting the discipline it demanded. Teni shared the impact on her social life, narrating instances where she couldn’t partake in meals during outings.
The decision to embark on a weight loss journey, according to Teni, stemmed from surviving two life-threatening bouts of COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021. After overcoming the illness, she decided it was time to prioritize her health and embark on a weight loss journey in January 2022.
