The Patriots Deny Links to Opposition Coalition

The Patriots, led by former Commonwealth Secretary General Chief Emeka Anyaoku, has dismissed any claims of joining an opposition coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. The group’s Secretary General, Comrade Olawale Okunniyi, made this clear over the weekend, stating that The Patriots remain a non-partisan organization.

Okunniyi emphasized that their focus is on advocating for a new constitution that represents the interests of all Nigerians. He revealed that their Advocacy and Mobilization Committee has been working across the six geo-political zones to engage key stakeholders in the push for a more inclusive democratic framework.

He also clarified that The Patriots has no connection to the opposition alliance being formed by politicians like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Instead, the group remains committed to national development and will not engage in partisan politics.
