The Confederation of All Progressives Congress Support Groups (CASG) has pledged its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This endorsement comes with a condition: Tinubu must appoint CASG members to his cabinet.
Prof Kailani Muhammad, CASG’s Director General, issued a strong statement during a ceremony in Abuja, warning President Tinubu of a potential conspiracy against him, allegedly involving the Northern Elders Forum and other groups. Muhammad emphasized the importance of appointing CASG members to solidify loyalty and ensure the success of Tinubu’s administration.
“If he does that, we will definitely back him. We want him to do the right thing. He should come and uplift the support groups. Up till now, we have not seen any appointments,” Muhammad declared.
CASG President, Prof Chris Ogbonna, highlighted the group’s pivotal role in Tinubu’s rise to the presidency, stressing that their efforts have bolstered democracy in Nigeria. He expressed confidence that including CASG members in the government would lead to economic growth and improved national well-being.
