Tinubu Triumphs: Supreme Court Upholds Presidential Victory

In a landmark decision today, President Bola Tinubu welcomed the Supreme Court’s ruling, which upheld his electoral victory in the February 25 Presidential Election. The verdict comes after candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party filed petitions challenging the earlier decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The President expressed his satisfaction with the verdict, emphasizing that the Supreme Court had meticulously addressed all the issues raised in the petitions, strictly adhering to the rule of law without bias. The decision not only affirms his electoral victory but also solidifies Nigeria’s electoral jurisprudence and constitutional democracy.

President Tinubu commended the dedication and professionalism of the Justices who presided over the case, asserting that the nation’s judiciary had once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law.

In his statement, President Tinubu stated, “I want to reiterate that my faith in our nation’s judiciary has never been shaken, not even for a moment, because I know that our hallowed courts of law will not fail to administer justice to all Nigerians in all matters and at all times.”

The President also acknowledged the pressure and attempts at intimidation by certain political actors but praised the judiciary for its resolute commitment to justice.

“This verdict reaffirms that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the popular mandate of Nigerians freely and fairly, giving rise to my leadership during a period of unprecedented reforms in our nation’s history,” President Tinubu added.

President Tinubu expressed his deep gratitude to God Almighty and accepted the judicial victory with a profound sense of responsibility. He vowed to continue serving all Nigerians, irrespective of their political affiliations, tribes, or faiths, and to uphold their diverse opinions and unifying values.

The President also stressed his commitment to the “Renewed Hope” agenda, which aims to build a stronger, united, and more prosperous Nigeria. He called on all Nigerians to work together to harness the strength of their diversity for the collective progress of the nation.

President Tinubu concluded his statement with a call for patriotism and unity, saying, “I trust that the spirit of patriotism will be elevated into supporting our administration to improve the living conditions of Nigerians. I am prepared to welcome the contributions of all Nigerians to foster and strengthen our collective progress.”

He expressed gratitude to all Nigerians for entrusting him with the mandate to serve the country and promised to exceed their expectations in service delivery and governance.

The President ended his statement with a prayer, “May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
