Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has slammed gospel singer Tope Alabi for refusing to perform at her surprise birthday party, despite being paid ₦4 million. Lizzy’s fans and husband had arranged the appearance to honor her love for the singer, but Tope declined to step out of her car when she realized the event was for Lizzy.
In a video, Lizzy expressed disappointment, recalling how she had supported Tope Alabi during her past controversies. She stressed that even as a Muslim, she had played Tope’s songs to show love, not because she needed them. Lizzy said she wouldn’t damage Tope’s brand, which her husband built through hardship, but she had to speak out.
She added that the money could’ve helped people in need and advised her fans not to waste money on such surprises again. Lizzy made it clear she wouldn’t personally invite Tope, saying, “I love you, but I don’t need you.”
