Transformer thief electrocuted in Benue state

An unidentified man electrocuted close to Otukpo’s Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) center, which serves as the administrative center for Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State.

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company abruptly restored electricity, electrocuting the suspected thief just as he had completed vandalizing a transformer on a high-tension pole (JEDC).

On Saturday morning, the body was found hanging from the high-tension pole, and a sizable group of onlookers had gathered around it.

Electricity distribution workers were still removing the deceased suspect’s body from the hung electric pole at the time this story was submitted.

According to a source, “We arrived this morning and discovered the body hanging from the electrical pole at a transformer, holding tools.”
