The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed allegations of forgery and conviction that were leveled against President Bola Tinubu by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
During the court’s ruling on a motion by the respondents, it was emphasized that the petitioners, PDP and Atiku Abubakar, had claimed that President Tinubu did not meet the constitutional requirements to run in the election. However, they failed to specify what these requirements were, leading to the dismissal of these allegations.
Additionally, a member of the five-man panel, Moses Ugo, struck out certain paragraphs in which the petitioners accused Kogi State Governor and Friday Adejo, described as a Local Government Chairman in Kogi State, of electoral irregularities. However, the petitioners failed to include them as parties in the petition, resulting in the removal of these allegations from the case.
