In a candid reflection, Thomas Tuchel discusses his impending exit from Bayern Munich, emphasizing that he sees himself as just one part of the challenges faced by the club.
Thomas Tuchel expressed his perspective on his impending departure from Bayern Munich, emphasizing that he doesn’t consider himself “the only problem” at the club and feels liberated to take more daring approaches in his coaching.

Tuchel, 50, will leave Bayern earlier than initially planned as part of the club’s “sporting realignment.” He views the clarity surrounding his departure as conducive to enhancing the team’s performance on the pitch and during training sessions.
“The only thing that matters now is that there is clarity. Clarity brings freedom and it is good for the matches and the training.” He added: “Freedom [also] for the coach in how to act. You don’t have to think about long-term consequences of your choices. You can be a bit more reckless.”
According to Tuchel, the newfound clarity provides him with the freedom to make decisions without dwelling on long-term consequences, allowing him to adopt a more adventurous coaching style.
Despite guiding Bayern to last season’s Bundesliga title and achieving success with Chelsea in the Champions League, Tuchel faces challenges this season as Bayern trails the league leaders by eight points with 12 games remaining.
The decision for Tuchel’s departure came after Bayern’s recent string of defeats, including a 3-2 loss to Bochum. While Tuchel acknowledges the club’s decision, he maintains that he’s not solely responsible for the team’s performance but accepts his share of accountability.
“It does not matter if I understand the decision of the club or whether I am happy with it,” said Tuchel, whose side play RB Leipzig on Saturday. “I don’t think I am the only problem but I accept my responsibility.
“I am not satisfied with the way we play and have been unhappy for quite some time. Now we have a new situation. The situation has been solved and communicated but I don’t think I am the only problem.”
Looking ahead, Tuchel sees the situation as an opportunity for change and improvement, stressing the need for collective responsibility in addressing the team’s performance issues.
