In a disturbing incident that unfolded in the early hours of Monday, the Kwara State Police Command has taken swift action by arresting two suspects, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju, residents of Shao Garage area in Ilorin. The arrests are in connection with an alleged throat-slitting attack on a neighbor following a disagreement.
The incident, which took place around midnight in the Shao Garage area Kwara State, Ilorin, within the Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, has sent shockwaves through the community. The victim, identified as Abubakar Babatunde, was discovered in critical condition by his brother, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, who responded to the distress calls of a resident. Abubakar was found lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit and was immediately rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Confirming the incident, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, assured the public that the necessary steps would be taken. “The needful will be done as soon as we have concluded our findings,” she stated.
