Understanding Wizards, Witches, and Malevolent Practices: Insights from Olukoya

Dr. Dk Olukoya, the founder and presiding General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries located in Yaba, delivered a message during the monthly program known as “Power Must Change Hands” at the ministry’s international headquarters. In his sermon, he provided insights into the nature of wizards, witches, and individuals who engage in malevolent practices, emphasizing the need for believers to understand these concepts.

According to Dr. Olukoya, he explained in the video that individuals who become wizards, witches, or engage in out-of-body wicked activities are influenced or possessed by something within their spiritual realm. He categorized these individuals as being under a state of possession. He further expounded that a person’s life consists of three interconnected aspects: the spirit, soul, and body, which can all become ensnared in bondage. To illustrate this point, he cited the biblical example of King Saul.

Regarding King Saul, Dr. Olukoya highlighted that Saul held the dual roles of king and prophet but struggled with instability, self-will, envy, a violent temper, and various forms of jealousy. Due to his lifestyle, the Spirit of the Lord departed from him, and an evil spirit took control of his life. This malevolent spirit fueled his attacks on David, and it periodically gained dominance over him. Dr. Olukoya emphasized that a person’s lifestyle can inadvertently open the door for evil spirits to take possession of their life if they are not vigilant.
