Reports suggest that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has grown frustrated with Victor Osimhen following the striker’s decision to reject a potential January transfer to Manchester United.
Osimhen currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been a prominent figure in transfer speculations this January. However, despite significant interest, including a proposed swap deal with Marcus Rashford, no agreement has been reached.

The Nigerian forward has been in high demand for some time. During the summer of 2024, Osimhen attracted bids from Paris-Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Al Ahly. Despite the interest and offera, a permanent move from Naples did not materialize. Now, while flourishing in the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray, a similar scenario seems to be unfolding.
Manchester United’s pursuit for Victor reportedly included offering Marcus Rashford in exchange, but the proposal appears to have left the Nigerian unmoved. This hesitation has put Napoli, who are long-time admirers of Rashford, in a challenging position.
De Laurentiis has reportedly expressed his frustration over Osimhen’s stance. According to La Repubblica, the Napoli president reacted angrily saying, “Then let him stay where he is. Tell Galatasaray to take Osimhen.”
Despite the tension, there remains a possibility for Napoli to secure Rashford. Manchester United is said to have shown interest in Napoli’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. However, the Serie A club is eagerly more eager to retain the Georgian forward than they are to keep the Nigerian forward.
