Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim commended his team’s grit and performance following their FA Cup third-round triumph over Arsenal.
Despite playing with ten men after Diogo Dalot’s second-half red card, United secured victory at the Emirates Stadium via a tense penalty shootout. Amorim stated that his side deserved the win , emphasizing their resiliance and strategic discipline.

The Portuguese tactician also acknowledged Arsenal’s dominancein terms of chances but credited United’s defensive organization and proficiency in a set pieces as the decisive factors.
“Some things are not technical and tactical, we had fight and we competed,” Amorim told BBC Sport after the match.
“We deserved the win even though they had more chances. They didn’t deserve to lose, but we deserved to win. We didn’t have the ball so much but we had control without the ball.
“The fans were unbelievable for us too. Now we have to rest the players, they are really tired.”
He also highlighted his satisfaction with his team’s recent form, pointing to their hard fought 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool as a sign of progress.
The win advances United to a fourth-round clash against Leicester City at old Tafford, while their focus now shifts to Thursday’s Premier League encounter with Southhampton.
