A recent report has unveiled the top streamed Afrobeats artist in the US during the first half of 2023, one of the music industry’s largest markets.
The data, compiled by Luminate, the US market monitor, was published by prominent media outlet Music Business Worldwide. The report highlights that Afrobeats garnered an impressive 2.5 billion on-demand audio streams in the US, marking a notable 34% increase compared to the same period in 2022.
Burna Boy emerged as the most streamed Afrobeats artist in the first half of 2023, amassing an impressive 1.1 billion global on-demand audio streams, with 255.8 million of those streams coming from the US alone.
Following closely behind, Tems secured over 184 million streams in the US, and Wizkid claimed the third position with over 181 million on-demand streams in the same market.
