The Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has adopted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
The decision was announced by party chieftain Muktar Magori during a press conference in Sokoto, saying the move followed consensus among party loyalists and stakeholders.
In a related development, the ADC in Enugu State declared that the South-East will not support President Bola Tinubu in 2027, accusing his administration of marginalisation and poor inclusion of the region.
The party also dismissed alleged threats linked to Minister of Works, David Umahi, insisting that no amount of pressure or intimidation would influence the region’s political choice.
ADC leaders in Enugu said their decision will be based on fairness, governance, and development, not political threats or promises.
