Families of 14 people abducted from Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State have appealed to the government and security agencies for urgent help as their relatives remain in captivity nearly one month after the incident.
The victims, including a local vigilante member and his wife, were kidnapped on March 11, 2026. Reports indicate that the abductors initially demanded ₦1 million for each victim, bringing the total ransom to ₦14 million. However, families have only managed to raise about ₦3 million despite selling farm produce and personal belongings to gather the money.
Sources involved in negotiations said the kidnappers have refused partial payment and insist on receiving the full ransom before releasing any of the victims. Community leaders have called on security agencies to intensify rescue efforts, while security operatives are reportedly searching nearby forests to locate the kidnappers’ hideout.
