During a speech at the 2nd anniversary of The Envoy Nation, a UK-based church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, commented on the lifestyle and name of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, stating that he “reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive.”
Bakare made these remarks and linked them to the late Imolenisation record label owner’s association with individuals he considered to be evil during his lifetime.
The pastor also questioned the appropriateness of the name “Mohbad” while referencing a tape he had listened to with his wife about the Nigerian artist. He recounted how Mohbad had engaged in activities such as drinking and smoking and associating with what he termed “evil men.” He went on to suggest that Mohbad’s early demise was a consequence of his actions.
“I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is Mohbad a good name? Moh Bad,” Bakare concluded.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, and the exact cause of his death remains undisclosed.
