Nigerian singer Davido has warned against any attempt to manipulate the upcoming Osun State governorship election, insisting that the votes of the people must be protected. The election, scheduled for August 15, 2026, will determine whether his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, secures a second term.
The singer shared a video on Instagram discussing election fraud and declared that he would be actively involved during the election period. Davido stated that anyone attempting to rig the poll would face serious consequences.
He has remained vocal about the Osun election and recently intensified his political involvement after being named head of youth mobilisation for the Accord Party campaign council. He also pledged his full support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid.
