On Thursday night, unidentified bandits reportedly invaded St. Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese, located in Southern Kaduna, and set fire to the parish house. Tragically, a seminarian named Na’aman Danlami lost his life in the incident.
While some priests managed to escape during the attack, Danlami was unable to do so and was caught in the fire. His remains have been deposited in the mortuary.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation from either the Kaduna State Government or the Kaduna State Police Command regarding the incident.
Rev. John Hayab, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, confirmed the incident, expressing sorrow over the continued violence and atrocities in the region.
