The Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has made a significant decision on Wednesday by removing the state governor, Yusuf Abba, who belongs to the New Nigeria People’s Party. In response, the tribunal declared Nasir Gawuna, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kano.
Additionally, the tribunal ordered the withdrawal of the Certificate of Return that had been presented to Yusuf Abba by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Previously, INEC had announced that Yusuf secured 1,019,602 votes, defeating Gawuna, who had garnered 890,705 votes.
Further details regarding this development are expected to be made available at a later time.
