Kwara Judge Warns Tani Olorun’s Supporters, Seizes Camera

The presiding judge of the Kwara State Upper Area Court, Mr. Sunday Adeniyi, has issued a warning to both Muslim adherents and Isese worshipers not to search for his photographs, as he believes they may be used for evil purposes. This warning came during the hearing of a criminal defamation case against Abdulazeez Adegbola, alias Tani Olorun, and the Oluwo Nla of Tede, Chief Ademola Olawoore.

The case involves five counts, including criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, disturbance of public peace, criminal defamation of character, and intentional insult, brought against the two defendants by the police on the complaint of the Emir of Ilorin.

Judge Adeniyi emphasized that he is only the judge in the case and warned the parties and their followers to refrain from searching for his photographs. He assured that he would perform his duties fairly and impartially in accordance with the law.

The judge later displayed a camera that had been seized from someone in the court, which he said was used to take photographs.

He granted bail to Chief Ademola Olawoore in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties, one of whom must own a landed property within the jurisdiction of the court. However, he deferred the ruling on Tani Olorun’s bail application until September 25th.
